We accept 35+ aged participants into the tournament, as 'individuals' only: we don't accept full teams. We 'rate' each individual participant and then 'blend'
('draft') the participants equally,
across the 8 'international' tournament teams (to keep the teams 'even' and the
games
competitive).

Participant |
"I'm in. How do I sign up?" PREVIOUS participant: If you played in the tournament LAST YEAR, please first contact the Tournament Organizer who signed you up LAST YEAR (no, this isn't 'multi-level' marketing). We should still have your info 'on file.' If your LAST YEAR Tournament Organizer is no longer available (as per the list below) OR you have been directed by your LAST YEAR's Tournament Organizer to do so, please fill out the Tournament Application Form (below). Please enter your LAST YEAR's Tournament Organizer in the "Who is your TOURNAMENT ORGANIZER..." field. NEW participant: If you
DID NOT play in the tournament LAST YEAR, please fill out the Tournament Application Form
(below). For both PREVIOUS and NEW participants, our Tournament General Contact may contact you, to verify any details.
|
|
Payment of Entry Fee: |
Once we've made sure there is room for you (in this year's tournament), one of our Tournament Organizers will contact you, to give you confirmation that you are 'IN' the tournament. For both PREVIOUS and NEW participants, you will be given direction as to which Tournament Organizer to make your entry fee cheque out to. If your Tournament Organizer is Dan Herauf, please make out a cheque (NO CASH, PLEASE!), payable to: "Dan Herauf," and deliver/mail it to: 622 Schubert Place NW, Calgary, Alberta T3L 1X4, as soon as possible. If the cheque is not in your name (e.g. in wife's name or is a company cheque), please indicate which participant/participants the cheque is for. Any bank charges (for any cheques that 'bounce') will be charged back to the appropriate participant PLUS a CTAOT $50.00 service fee (for the freakin' royal run-around effort to clear the cheque). First come, first serve - your cheque guarantees your spot - no cheque, no play - sorry. Get your money in early, will fill up fast! This applies to 'PREVIOUS participants' and to 'NEW participants.' We don't take 'reservations' and we do keep a 'waiting list' (you can be replaced). Cheques WILL be returned, to those who don't get in (when 'SOLD OUT'). Please see our 'Cancellation Deadline' for participants who 'drop out' of the tournament.
|
| 'Buddy' Requests: |
"I'll play in the tournament as long as I can be on the same team as Bobby." Sorry, but due to the horrendous logistics of trying to fulfill 'buddy' requests, while maintaining 'balanced' teams, we don't accept any 'buddy' requests. If you don't get placed on the same team, as your 'bromance,' don't worry. The games are played 'back to back' (time-wise) and are played on 'side by side' ice surfaces, so you won't be apart for long. You'll see each other either 'on the ice' or at the 'bar' upstairs, after the games. Trust me - it's fun to play against your buds. They think twice about trying that 'dirty dangle' against you - you know all their so-called 'sweet' moves!!

Important |
January 1, 2012: Application open to age 35+
participants who
played in last year's tournament (35+, PREVIOUS participant) March 1, 2012, 1:00am MDT: Cancellation Deadline. After this deadline, no refunds for cancellation - sorry, no exceptions (e.g. health, wealth, kids' tournaments, ovulation, whatever, . . . ).
(Week of March 5, 2012: 'Draft' meeting + go to 'waiting list' (if necessary)) Tuesday, March 6, 2012, 5:30pm MDT: 'Draft' meeting (more fun than 'TSN TradeCentre') Wednesday, March 7, 2012, 11:00am MDT (ish): Participant names (and teams) will be posted on our Rosters page. Before the 'draft' meeting, please do not call or e-mail your Tournament Organizer, asking "What team am I on?" The Tournament Organizers won't know yet. After the 'draft' meeting, please do not call or e-mail your Tournament Organizer, asking "What team am I on?" The Tournament Organizers don't have the time to respond to umpteen inquiries, for information that will be posted. Again, please refer to the Rosters page. As well as being posted on the Rosters page, at some point, after the 'draft' meeting, each Tournament Organizer will contact their respective participants, to confirm which team their participants are on.

| Arena Amenities: |
For the tournament, we have a licensed social 'gathering' room upstairs, at Crowchild Twin Arena, great for pre-game warm-ups and for post-game celebrations. We offer light munchies, you can watch sports on the tube, shoot the sh_t, and enjoy 'Toonie' brews (we operate the bar nearly 'at cost' but the young bartenders gratefully accept 'tips'). Our Friday night 'post-game' session tends to run later than Saturday night's but the room is open all weekend. Nothing fancy, just a place to gather, lick your wounds, or brag about that 'move' you made. Tournament games, on both ice surfaces, can be viewed, in heated comfort, from upstairs, at Crowchild Twin Arena.
