Hitched Belt
  Approximate value: CDN$600.00
This is a custom-made, hitched horsehair belt, made for Mark C. Worcester, in Southwest Harbor, Maine, USA.  The M/W hitched into the belt is a combination of Mark's initials and his brand.  Mark chose the colors for the diamond pattern combinations - burgundy, kelly green, and two shades of blue.  His three horses, Legend, Jackson, and Jake supplied the natural colored hair used in the pattern and border of the belt.
The belt size is 1-1/2" x 36", with a cross-hitch border.  The belt also features nickel Chicago screws, for easy buckle attachment.  Mark supplied his own silver tip, which was attached to the billet.  The billets are hand-cut from English bridle leather and were stamped with a basketweave pattern, tapering from 1-1/2" to 1" width to fit the buckle set.

Watchstrap
  Approximate value: CDN$200.00
This watchstrap was made for Faith Olsen, of Canby, Minnesota, USA.  Her pony, Buddy, provided the white/mixed hair, which was used in the hitched insert piece for the background, center of the diamond, and in the border.  Black hair provided a color contrast.  Faith chose a 3-piece nickel buckle set and also provided the Montana Silversmith watch.

Bracelets (non-adjustable) Bracelets, bolo strings/tie, tassels, keychains/rings
Bracelets and other various items
The items above were made for Cindy Moren, and son Michael, of Bakersfield, California, USA.  The hair was from Michael's mare, Ice.  The items include 4 hitched memory bracelets which read: 1997 ICE 2003, 2 pair of bridle tassels, 2 pair of keyring & zipper pull sets, and a bolo string to encircle the urn holding Ice's ashes.

Michael was injured in an accident and spent 2 years in a wheelchair.  Ice had been trained to a professional level in Reining Cow Horse and, though everyone said he couldn't do it, with Ice, Michael was able to compete.  Cindy says that it was Ice's intelligence and ability to compensate for Michael's being off balance that enabled him to accomplish this success.  Ice gave him back his self-confidence and pride in the knowledge that he could do anything he wanted.  Ice had an allergic reaction to the West Nile virus vaccine and had to be put to sleep.

Hitched Belt
  Approximate value: men's CDN$600.00, ladies' CDN$500.00
May 17, 2004 was the day Stacey Engleson lost a very dear friend - GBK Smokey Nite, a.k.a. In memory of Spud, Stacey had several items made from his hair, including the two hitched belts shown here. Stacey chose to have a 1" belt made with patterns and Spud's name in the center, with stamped billets tapering to fit a 3/4" buckle.
Stacey also had a belt made for her dad, Reg, showing their brand - Double Z Bar.  Reg's belt is 1-1/2" wide, with stamped billets of the same size.  Both belts include silver concho screws.  All of the dark hair used in the belts in Spud's.  The leather billets were made by Jody MacDonald of Cow Camp Saddlery, Fort Macleod, Alberta, Canada.
