The belt (below) was shown in the April 2003 issue of the
'Western Horseman' magazine, in the 'Cowboy Craft Corner' section.

Hitched Belt
Approximate value: CDN$600.00
This is a custom-made, hitched horsehair belt, made for Mark C.
Worcester, in
Southwest Harbor, Maine, USA. The M/W hitched into the belt is a
combination of Mark's initials and his brand. Mark chose the colors for
the diamond pattern combinations - burgundy, kelly green, and two shades of
blue. His three horses, Legend, Jackson, and Jake supplied the natural
colored hair used in the pattern and border of the belt.
The belt size is
1-1/2" x 36", with a cross-hitch border. The belt also features
nickel Chicago screws, for easy buckle attachment. Mark supplied his own
silver tip, which was attached to the billet. The billets are hand-cut
from English bridle leather and were stamped with a basketweave pattern, tapering
from 1-1/2" to 1" width to fit the buckle set.

Bracelets and other various items
The items above were made for Cindy Moren, and son Michael, of
Bakersfield, California, USA. The hair was from Michael's mare, Ice.
The items include 4 hitched memory bracelets which read: 1997 ICE 2003, 2 pair
of bridle tassels, 2 pair of keyring & zipper pull sets, and a bolo string
to encircle the urn holding Ice's ashes.
Michael was injured in an accident and spent 2 years in a
wheelchair. Ice had been trained to a professional level in Reining Cow
Horse and, though everyone said he couldn't do it, with Ice, Michael was able to
compete. Cindy says that it was Ice's intelligence and ability to
compensate for Michael's being off balance that enabled him to accomplish this
success. Ice gave him back his self-confidence and pride in the knowledge
that he could do anything he wanted. Ice had an allergic reaction to the
West Nile virus vaccine and had to be put to sleep.
