The "Bronc" halter is the latest style of halter to have for your horse. These halters are made even more unique with the addition of a hitched horsehair inlay in the noseband. This is accented by nickel spots on the crown and cheek pieces and noseband, along with contrasting leather lining the crown piece and noseband attachments.
Each halter is handcrafted - quality made and double layered with nickel hardware. The horsehair inlay pieces measures approx. 3-4" (depending on pattern). Backgrounds for the inlays are available in black, brown, or white. Patterns A, B, or C can be done in colors of your choosing - red, purple, royal blue, light blue, green, orange, yellow, pink, turquoise, and burgundy.

Halters shown fit an average sized horse, but will fit larger than traditional halters.

Leather Headstall - Browband with Hitched Horsehair Inlay
(Old-time style lined headstall with 4" length of hitched horsehair inlay in the browband. Headstall is fully stamped with the basketweave design and completed with brass buckles. Bit attachment has latigo ties. This headstall is an excellent example of a custom order. Hitched horsehair inlays can be done in different patterns and color combinations. Hitched Horsehair & Sterling Silver 3-piece set
Breastcollar, Reins, Headstall
(exceptional, one-of-a-kind!)
Horsehair hitcher, Donna Murray has collaborated with leatherworker and silversmith, Charlie Barnett, to create this one-of-a-kind set. The set is beautiful as well as functional and would do for either the collector who wants to display it or for the horseman/woman looking for truly spectacular using tack.

1. Breastcollar
The chest sections are made with two 14" long x 1-1/2" wide hitched pieces finished with English bridle leather. These pieces are attached using nickel D-rings to adjustable English bridle leather tugs. The two tugs taper to 3/4" width and each is accented by a hand-engraved 3-piece sterling silver buckle set - buckle, keeper, and tip. The 3/4" width center strap is also made of English bridle leather. The strap is adjustable using a nickel buckle and attaches to the saddle cinch D-ring using a nickel snap. The breastcollar is highlighted with a hand-engraved 3-1/4" circumference sterling silver concho in the center of the chest sections. The concho is securely attached on three sides and fully backed by leather. The pattern of blue, red, yellow, and burgundy matches the pattern on the headstall pieces - browband, crown piece, and cheek pieces. The edges of the hitched pieces are cross-hitched with blue/black.

2. Reins
Made from English bridle leather with an overall length of 7-1/2' x 3/4" width. The ends are finished with 10" leather poppers. The hitched horsehair inserts are each 16" length x 3/4" width. The pattern of blue, red, yellow, and burgundy matches the pattern on the throatlatch. The edges of the hitched pieces are cross-hitched with blue/black. The bit connection ends measure 3/4" width flaring to 1-1/2", then tapering to 3/4". Located in the center of each flared piece is a hand-engraved 7/8" sterling silver concho attached with a Chicago screw.

3. Headstall
A. Cheek pieces - each side contains a hitched horsehair piece measuring 4" length x 1" width, completed with English bridle leather ends tapering to 3/4" width for an overall length of 11". The bit attachments are very distinct hangers, made from hand-engraved sterling silver. The hangers completely enclose the leather ends and are hand-engraved on the front and back. The edges of the hitched pieces are cross-hitched in blue/black.
B. Crown piece - contains 17" of hitched horsehair and measures 1" width. The billets are accented on either side with a 3-piece hand-engraved, sterling silver buckle set - buckle, keeper, and tip. Edges are cross-hitched in blue/black.
C. Browband - contains 11" length x 1" width of hitched horsehair completed with English bridle leather ends, which taper to 3/4" width. Each side is enhanced with a hand-engraved, sterling silver bridle loop concho measuring 2-1/4" circumference and a double-layered tassel in blue/black with half-hitched finishing knots. Edges are cross-hitched in blue/black.
D. Throatlatch - contains 32" length x 3/4" width hitched horsehair piece completed with English bridle leather ends, tapering to 1/2". Finished with a hand-engraved, sterling silver 3-piece buckle set - buckle, keeper, and tip. Adorned with a 10" shoofly on a 1" nickel ring, done in blue/black with a half-hitched finishing knot. Edges are cross-hitched in blue/black.

A very distinct feature of this set is that each buckle is attached to the leather ends using slotted steel, U-shaped pieces attached with brass escutcheon pins. Overall, the piece contains 128" of hitching in widths from 3/4" to 1-1/2". For the hand-engraved, sterling silver pieces, the set contains:
- one 3-1/4" large concho
- two 7/8" conchos with Chicago screw attachments
-two 2-1/4" bridle loop conchos
-four 3-piece 3/4" buckle sets - buckle, keeper, and tips
-one 3-piece 1/2" buckle set - buckle, keeper, and tip
All leather pieces are made from English bridle leather - top of the line, premium quality leather.

Mercates
These beautiful mecates are handcrafted from double-braided 5/8" yacht rope. Completed with a 6" horsehair tassel. Finished with a half-hitched horsehair cover knot at one end and an 11" inch fully stamped, lined and stitched leather popper (held securely with a half-hitch horsehair cover knot) at the other end. Popper can be personalized with your initials or your brand - no extra charge.

Colors: All items are available in the natural colors of white, black, and brown, as well as the dyed colors of red, turquoise, blue, purple, hunter green, and burgundy. The dyed colors are popular for coordinating clothing and tack for horse shows and rodeo.
